Tour de Cambridge – 2

The anticipation is over, the tour has rolled on, and we are left contemplating the memory of the unreadable blur of colourful jerseys that stalled the city for several hours yesterday morning. 

The school took itself down to Trumpington Road, from where their view looked like this:

I was lucky enough to watch the depart from a window in Emmanuel College – lucky, not because it was the best view, but because it was the most comfortable wait. I had a chair and a sandwich and a glass of wine. Here is what it looked like – notice the staff of John Lewis waving tiny flags in the window of their shop. Oh, and that’s my youngest at the end of the video, asking repeatedly, who’s right at the back? The British seem to have an innate fascination with the underdog.
